The Maker's Story
Christopher Radko
New York, New York
Founded in 1985
Over forty years ago, Christopher Radko discovered that his family’s collection of vintage mouth-blown glass ornaments had broken to bits, after searching to replace them, he found nothing quite good enough to replace his treasured memories. He soon realized that the only option was to start from scratch, thus began the creation of Christopher Radko ornaments. He enlisted a Polish glassblower and went to work recreating his family’s lost heirlooms. The project went so well that in 1985 sixty unique designs were debuted. Each ornament is meticulously crafted by hand in Poland, using methods that date back to the Renaissance era, including molding each ornament, glass blowing and hand painting. The artisans put careful thought and thorough hard work into preserving this time-honored craft in each ornament.
