partnered with the International Irish Tattoo Artist and all-around awesome human, Michael Mahon to create this one-of-a-kind kerchief. When asked her inspiration for the design, she had this to say,
'To me, this design represents the heart and magic of Irish culture; the old country.
Symbolizing eternal love, friendship, loyalty and devotion. Celtic knots have many meanings, but always represent the eternal, with no finite beginning or end. This kerchief brings me both protection and strength, but above all pride!
May it bring you the same sense of comfort and unity, knowing you have a little piece of Ireland in your back pocket.'
“Nì neart go cur le chéile” (strength in unity)
Maker's Story
Hanks Kerchiefs
Los Angeles, California
Founded in 2018
The kerchief has been an integral part of Colin Hanks' family for decades. His grandfather always had one in his back pocket, his dad inevitably brought a stack on family vacations, and Colin found himself searching for unique kerchiefs as travel mementos. This familial connection is in large part the foundation for Hanks Kerchiefs. The brand also appreciates the rich cultural history behind the use of a 20” x 20” square of fabric - from 1000 BC as a sun covering, to the Romans signaling the beginning of a chariot race, to the 1900s when it was used to wave good-bye. Whether representing family traditions or creating new ones, Colin hopes these kerchiefs become markers of memorable times in your life. Be Ready! Proudly made in the USA. A portion of each sale goes to a designated charity.
