Dan Schmitt Pottery
Eugene, OregonFounded in 1999
Making functional pottery has been at the heart of Dan’s studio practice. His porcelain tableware is made from an English Grolleg porcelain that is clear glazed and fired to over 2300•F, taking three to four weeks to complete from start to finish. Growing up with parents who immigrated to the U.S. from Germany in the late 70’s his aesthetic has strong Northern European leanings as well as being influenced by Japanese ceramics which played a major role during his formative years as a potter.
