Through jewelry Article22 takes a negative and transforms it into a positive. Handcrafted from Vietnam War shrapnel left behind during America’s “Secret War” in Laos each piece helps clear at least 3 square meters of bomb littered land. Together Laos artisans craft each piece utilizing traditional methods like earthen kilns to melt the metal and wood and ash molds to form the jewelry. Transforming the weapons into jewelry helps to preserve local craft, clear unexploded ordnances, and most importantly make the land safe again for the people of Laos.
